Early Life and Career
José Mourinho was born in Setúbal, Portugal, on January 26, 1963. His father, José Félix Mourinho, was a professional footballer. Mourinho began his coaching career in 1990 as an assistant coach at Estrela da Amadora. He later worked as an assistant coach for Benfica and Porto.
Managerial Success
Mourinho became manager of Porto in 2002. Under his leadership, Porto won the UEFA Champions League in 2004. He then moved to Chelsea in 2004 and led the team to two Premier League titles.
Mourinho has also managed Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. He has won league titles in all three countries. Mourinho is one of the most successful managers in European history.
Recent Accomplishments
In 2017, Mourinho became the first manager to win the UEFA Europa League with two different clubs (Porto and Manchester United). He has also won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
